Immersive, improvised solo piano for deep listening and cultural resonance
A piano soundbath is a live, uninterrupted listening experience.
It’s not a concert. There’s no stage. No clapping.
Just music — unfolding in real time — while the audience is invited to sit or lie down, close their eyes, and receive the sound.
Where most soundbaths use crystal bowls or gongs rooted in Eastern tradition, my approach is distinct: solo piano, drawing from Jewish modes, nigunim, and folk melodies. The music is improvised, but grounded in structure. Spacious, but emotionally alive.
It’s an experience of sound without distraction — a chance to slow down, reconnect, and hear something you didn’t know you needed.
🎹 Live, Improvised Piano — the music you hear has never been played exactly this way before, and will never happen again
✡️ Rooted in Jewish Musical Tradition — using motifs, modes, and rhythms from liturgy and folk sources rather than Eastern sources
🕯️ Emotionally Layered — calm, yes, but also textured, expressive, and unexpected with jazz and classical methodologies woven in
🧠 Culturally Resonant — for communities seeking a soundbath experience aligned with Jewish identity
🛋️ Accessible to All — no prior experience with meditation or music needed, just sit back and let the music wash over you
A piano soundbath is less about watching and more about receiving. The environment is intentionally quiet, with no formal stage or audience interaction — allowing the music to take center space and unfold without interruption. It’s an invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and let the sound move through you, however it lands.
45–60 minutes of uninterrupted solo piano
A quiet space where attendees can lie down or sit comfortably
Optional short intro (5 minutes) to ground the group
No talking, phones, or applause — just deep listening
A few moments of silence at the end before re-entry
Recorded live during the High Holiday Season 5786, in preparation for Yom Kippur
WHAT THE EXPERIENCE IS LIKE – FROM PEOPLE LIKE YOU
Doniel beautifully wove together classic Jewish tunes with his own musical interpretation. Going to the soundbath was a spiritual experience through familiar niggunim combined with his own talent.

As a mom of little ones, I know I won't get to be in shul as much as I used to be for the Yomim Noraim, and I miss the comfort and poignancy of the familiar niggunim. This soundbath was an incredible opportunity to tap into the power of those melodies ahead of yom tov. It felt like the music spoke straight to my neshama and gave me the spiritual experience I miss when yom tov turns into a whirlwind of snacks and diapers.

"I was able to completely relax"
Listening to Doniel Berry playing piano is simultaneously calming, uplifting and entertaining. As I listened to him skillfully transform classic niggunim into jazzified pieces, I was able to completely relax and let my body and soul be washed by the spiritual and beautiful notes. I would absolutely recommend him to play for communities looking for beautiful music, spirituality and pure enjoyment!
